A Snake or a Gun

I am tired of thinking and talking

There aren’t any more answers to be found

And I’m sick of just walking around

Confidences will simply always break,

Relationships wither, grapes in the sun

So just choose between a snake or a gun

Kill, or be killed by one or the other

Don’t trust your lover, don’t trust your brother

Tell what you’re willing for others to know

For when trust fails, your secrets they will show

There’s no good or bad, just alive or dead

For a snake will bite you within your bed

A gun will put a bullet through your head

Life tests the living, but it is no test

Now it’s time to put on my Sunday best

And to revel in this undying quest
